Your socket is in the wrong place.

Most rooms were wired for a ceiling bulb and a plug by the skirting board, not for the spots you actually sit, read and hang art. Cordless light goes where you need it, with no cables and no electrician.

Cordless vs hardwired: which suits your space?

Hardwired lights are great if you own the place and have an electrician on call. For renters, and anyone who wants light where the wiring isn't, cordless wins most of the time.
